• Increases trauma hospital designation levels from four to six levels, with three-year designation periods and provisions for up to 18-month provisional extensions during reverification.

• Prohibits collection of data on lawful firearm ownership or an individual's right to carry a weapon under Minnesota law in the trauma registry.

• Classifies trauma registry data on individuals as private data and non-individual data as nonpublic data; requires annual public reporting of comparative demographic and risk-adjusted epidemiological data on designated trauma hospitals.
