Reduces the statute of limitations from six years to four years for civil actions in Minnesota Statutes section 541.05, subdivision 1.

Applies the four-year limitation to contract disputes, statutory liabilities, trespass, property damage, fraud, trust enforcement, official bond claims, commercial dam damages, and domestic abuse-related torts.

For fraud claims, the four-year period does not begin until the aggrieved party discovers the facts constituting the fraud.

For claims against sureties on public officer bonds, the limitation period does not begin to run until the officer's term expires.

Effective August 1, 2010, and applies only to causes of action occurring on or after that date.
