Amends Minnesota Statutes section 157.15, subdivision 8, to consolidate the definition of "lodging establishment" to include hotels, motels, bed and breakfast facilities, and resorts in one unified definition rather than separate categories.

Removes the previous requirement that lodging establishments serve "regular roomers, for periods of one week or more" and instead defines them as residential or commercial buildings furnishing sleeping accommodations to the public.

Exempts single-family homes and multifamily housing units with individual kitchen and bath facilities rented or leased for continuous periods of one month or more from lodging establishment regulations.

Creates an exemption for single-family homes or cabins furnished to the public two times or less per year, unless the property is advertised through print, broadcast, or electronic communications.

Repeals the separate "Hotel or motel" definition (subdivision 7) and "Resort" definition (subdivision 11) from Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 157.15.
