Students must develop a six-year education and career plan before entering 9th grade to define goals and ensure proper high school course sequencing, effective for students entering 9th grade in 2010-2011 and later.

Education and career plans must include a plan to complete a college readiness assessment by end of 11th grade, explore career information and educational requirements, and visit a college or university by end of 11th grade.

School districts must provide students the opportunity to take a college readiness assessment (ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer) before completing 11th grade, effective for students entering 11th grade in 2010-2011 and later.

Secondary schools must cooperate with postsecondary institutions to provide learning opportunities allowing secondary students to earn at least 12 postsecondary credits toward a degree or certificate, effective for the 2009-2010 school year and later.
