Amends Minnesota Statutes section 120B.021, subdivision 1 to include family and consumer science as part of required academic standards under the social studies subject area.

Family and consumer science joins history, geography, economics, and government and citizenship as components of the social studies requirement for statewide accountability.

Maintains existing requirements for language arts, mathematics, science, physical education, health, and the arts as required academic standards.

Requires school districts to adopt graduation requirements meeting or exceeding state requirements no later than the 2007-2008 school year.

Directs the commissioner to include contributions of Minnesota American Indian tribes and communities when reviewing and revising required academic standards.
