Amends Minnesota Statutes section 123B.52 to require school food authority contracts with food service management companies conform to the federal procurement cycle rather than the state procurement cycle.

Limits initial contracts with food service management companies to one year with an option for the district to renew yearly for up to four additional years (maximum five-year total).

Allows school food authorities that obtained new contracts in 2008-2009 and renewed twice to renew a third time for 2011-2012 only as a transitional provision.

Caps total consecutive contract duration between school food authorities and food service management companies at four years, regardless of original and renewal terms.

Effective immediately upon enactment and applies to all new and renewal contracts, with transitional provisions applying to contracts from the 2008-2009, 2009-2010, or 2010-2011 school years.
