Adds new definition of "drug" to Minnesota Statutes section 169A.03, referencing the definition in section 152.01, subdivision 2, effective August 1, 2012.

Modifies driving while impaired crimes for motor vehicles, motorboats, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, off-highway motorcycles, and off-road vehicles to include "or a drug" alongside controlled substances as a basis for criminal liability.

Removes the word "hazardous" from the description of substances that affect the nervous system, brain, or muscles so as to substantially impair driving or operating ability in all six vehicle categories.

Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 169A.03, subdivision 9, effective August 1, 2012.

All changes apply to crimes committed on or after August 1, 2012.
