Peace officers must report to their department head every arrest where the person possesses more than one welfare electronic benefit transfer card.

Reports must include the offender's name, driver's license or state ID number, home address, card numbers, names on cards, offense date, location, crime committed, and other information the commissioner deems necessary.

Law enforcement departments must forward reports to the commissioner of human services within 30 days of receiving them.

The commissioner of human services will use reports to assess the suspect's continued eligibility for welfare benefits.

The commissioner of human services and the superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension must adopt standardized reporting forms for law enforcement agencies to use.
