Requires advanced diagnostic imaging services operating in Minnesota to obtain accreditation from approved organizations including the American College of Radiology, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, the Joint Commission, or other entities designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Applies to facilities eligible for reimbursement from any source including private insurance, workers' compensation, motor vehicle insurance, the State Employee Group Insurance Program, and state health care programs.

Excludes x-ray, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy services from the accreditation requirement.

Mandates all accreditation standards include physician qualifications, quality control monitoring by medical physicists, technologist qualifications with supervised clinical experience, personnel and patient safety guidelines, and initial and ongoing quality control using clinical image review and quantitative testing.

Requires existing facilities to obtain accreditation by August 1, 2013, and all new facilities must be accredited before operations commence and maintain accreditation thereafter.

Mandates facilities report accreditation status annually to the commissioner, who may promulgate rules to administer the reporting requirement.
