Extends the age limit for newborns from 72 hours to 30 days old at the time they are left at a safe place.

Requires safe places to examine newborns and provide necessary medical care or transport to a hospital pending assumption of custody by social services agencies.

Grants immunity from criminal and civil liability to safe place employees, doctors, peace officers, and other professionals acting in good faith under the safe haven law.

Clarifies that newborns left at safe places are considered abandoned children and exempts social service agencies from attempting reunification or searching for relatives when the child's identity is unknown.
