Reduces the limitations period for actions affecting real estate title from 40 years to 25 years in Minnesota Statutes section 541.023.

A notice must be recorded within 25 years (previously 40 years) of an instrument's execution or occurrence to preserve the right to enforce claims based on that instrument.

Reduces the reversion period for unsold town lots from 40 years to 25 years under Minnesota Statutes section 365.27, subdivision 3.

Applies the 25-year limitation to repurchase options and other rights of repurchase that encumber land interests, unless a notice is recorded within the 25-year period.

Takes effect January 1, 2013.
