Designates a domestic abuse no contact order as a criminal order issued by a court against a defendant in a criminal proceeding or a juvenile offender in a delinquency proceeding.

Applies to domestic abuse, harassment or stalking against family or household members, violations of orders for protection, and violations of prior domestic abuse no contact orders.

Allows domestic abuse no contact orders to be issued as pretrial orders before final disposition or as postconviction probationary orders, independent of any pretrial release or probation conditions.

Removes the requirement that no contact order proceedings be held separately from and immediately following pretrial release or sentencing proceedings.
