Requires publishers to disclose to students, faculty, bookstores, and institutions: title, edition, author, ISBN, undiscounted prices, bundled/unbundled formats with separate pricing, summary of revisions in electronic format, and return policies for course materials.

Mandates publishers make bundled course materials available in unbundled form to bookstores and institutions, or provide notice if unbundled versions are unavailable.

Requires instructors to provide course material information in published course syllabi with links to electronic information from publishers, including edition revision summaries.

Requires bookstores to make reasonable efforts to obtain and provide instructors with detailed course material information including pricing, bundling options, alternative formats, availability, and revision details prior to orders.

Exempts mass-market and trade books not primarily published or marketed for postsecondary classroom use from disclosure requirements; does not restrict faculty academic freedom in selecting course materials.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
