Amends Minnesota Statutes section 84.085 to require the commissioner of natural resources to notify donors or their heirs before selling land that was obtained as a gift.

Allows donors or heirs to request repayment of the market value of the gifted land within 30 days after the land is sold.

Maintains existing authority for the commissioner to accept gifts of land, money, and personal property for natural resources activities.

Limits appraisal cost reimbursements to $1,500 when the state pays donors for a portion of gifted land value, and $5,000 when donors receive no payment from the state.
