Board of School Administrators must review and approve or disapprove preparation programs for school administrators and alternative preparation programs under section 122A.27, including competency-based preparation programs leading to licensure.

License fee for school administrators changed from "annual" to a $75 fee collected each fiscal year, with the board required to notify licensees of penalties for late payment.

Administrators who fail to pay the fee automatically have all administrative licenses suspended without a hearing until payment is made, and the board must immediately notify the employing district of the suspension.

Board of School Administrators may adjust the fee amount in 2012 and fiscal year 2013 to transition from an annual to a fiscal year fee structure.
