School districts must adopt and implement a policy to prevent and address child sexual abuse, effective for the 2012-2013 school year and later.

District policies may include age-appropriate curriculum for prekindergarten through grade 5, staff training, parent education on warning signs, counseling services, and methods to increase awareness of child sexual abuse.

An advisory task force on preventing child sexual abuse is established with 17 members including legislators, state commissioners, and representatives from education and child welfare organizations.

Task force members serve without compensation and must recommend to the commissioner of education and legislature how to reduce child sexual abuse, including gathering information and identifying state policy goals.

Advisory task force must submit written recommendations by February 15, 2013, and expires on February 16, 2013.
