Requires labeling of food containing or produced with genetically engineered organisms with bold 10-point type stating "THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS A GENETICALLY ENGINEERED ORGANISM, OR WAS PRODUCED WITH A GENETICALLY ENGINEERED ORGANISM"

Applies to food derived from organisms treated with genetically engineered organisms, animals fed genetically engineered organisms, and food containing ingredients meeting these criteria

Exempts food served in restaurants and other establishments where food is served for immediate human consumption

Directs the commissioner to establish methodologies and testing procedures to determine presence of genetically engineered organisms in food

Violation is classified as a misdemeanor; effective for food sold, offered for sale, or distributed after January 1, 2013
