Bill Summary

• Modifies electronic prescribing requirements effective January 1, 2011, with exemptions for small clinics with two or fewer physicians until January 1, 2015.

• Restructures Family Stabilization Services under MFIP by simplifying definitions, removing mandatory case management model, and requiring lead agencies to attempt meeting with eligible participants within 30 days to develop a plan.

• Expands supervised social work practice options by allowing up to 25-100% of supervision hours from alternate qualified supervisors based on availability and practice location, effective August 1, 2012.

• Extends conversion period for licensed professional counselors to become licensed professional clinical counselors from August 1, 2011, to August 1, 2013, and adds continuing education requirements of 40 hours in first four years of licensure.

• Modifies elderly waiver customized living service provisions to include provider input in rate determination, allows current or proposed service providers to submit nursing assessments for elderly waiver clients, and updates hospice care coverage to age 20 instead of 21.
