Requires courts to determine the amount of child support before calculating any maintenance (spousal support) award.

Modifies gross income calculation to exclude spousal maintenance received "in a separate proceeding" rather than maintenance from "a previous order or the current proceeding."

Removes language allowing deduction of child support or spousal maintenance "ordered payable to the other party as part of the current proceeding" from gross income calculations.

Clarifies that gross income for child and spousal support purposes is calculated before employer-sponsored benefit plan contributions and excludes overtime compensation beyond 40 hours per week under specified conditions.
