Allows internally hired teachers promoted to principal or assistant principal to retain their continuing contract status as teachers and return to their previous teaching position if not promoted.

Provides exemptions from seniority-based layoff rules for teachers in Montessori programs, language immersion programs, advanced placement courses, and music directors, though Montessori and immersion teachers must still follow seniority rules within their programs.
