Creates a new statute (Minnesota Statutes 501B.011) allowing trusts to be established for the care of animals alive during the grantor's lifetime.

Terminates upon the death of the animal or, for multiple animals, upon the death of the last surviving animal.

Permits enforcement by a person appointed in the trust document or by a court-appointed person if none is named; allows interested parties to request court appointment or removal of enforcement persons.

Restricts trust property use to its intended purpose, except courts may authorize use of excess funds if property value exceeds the amount needed for animal care.

Directs unexpended or excess trust property upon termination to pass per the trust instrument or, if no provision exists, to the grantor's heirs-at-law under intestacy law.
