Adopts the Uniform Community Property Rights at Death Act as Minnesota Statutes, chapter 519A.

Applies to personal property acquired as community property under another jurisdiction's laws and to Minnesota real property acquired with community property proceeds or income.

Upon death of a married person, one-half of applicable property belongs to the surviving spouse and is not subject to the decedent's will or Minnesota succession laws; the other half is the decedent's property subject to testamentary disposition.

Surviving spouse's one-half interest is exempt from the spouse's elective share rights and is not included in the decedent's net estate.

Establishes procedures for perfecting title to applicable property and protects purchasers for value and lenders from competing claims when they take property based on apparent or record title.
