Authorizes members of the Minnesota Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit to apply for search warrants, removing the previous prohibition against such applications.

Adds Fugitive Apprehension Unit members to the statutory definition of "peace officer" under Minnesota Statutes section 626.05, subdivision 2.

Removes language from section 241.025, subdivision 2 that explicitly prohibited fugitive apprehension unit members from applying for search warrants as prescribed in section 626.05.

Applies to search warrant procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes sections 626.04 through 626.17.
