Establishes financial liability for hospitals in cases of hospital-acquired conditions caused by errors or omissions in diagnosis, treatment, care, or services provided to patients.

Requires hospitals to pay for all reasonably necessary corrective medical and hospital services resulting from hospital-acquired conditions they create or worsen.

Allows patients to obtain corrective services from any appropriate medical or hospital provider, with costs paid by the responsible hospital.

Effective August 1, 2012, and applies to hospital-acquired conditions created on or after that date.
