Allows the White Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association to pay a $2,000 lump sum death benefit from its special fund to the estate of eligible deceased members.

Eligible recipients must have been relief association members with at least 20 years of firefighting service and membership in the association.

Beneficiaries must have retired before January 1, 2009 and been receiving a monthly service pension at the time this section became effective.

Payment authority requires the relief association to amend its bylaws to implement this benefit provision.

Effective date is the day after the city of White Bear Lake's governing body completes compliance with Minnesota Statutes section 645.021.
