Allows Court of Appeals judges whose permanent residence is more than 50 miles from their St. Paul chambers to receive additional reimbursement for housing and mileage expenses during their term of service

Provides housing expense reimbursement in an amount set by judicial council policy, with a minimum of $1,000 per month

Authorizes mileage reimbursement for travel between the judge's residence and permanent chambers at the current Internal Revenue Service reimbursement rate

Maintains existing travel expense reimbursement for all Court of Appeals judges as provided for district court judges under Minnesota Statutes section 484.54

Takes effect July 1, 2012
