Extends statute of limitations for certain theft and financial exploitation crimes from five years to ten years when the value of property or services stolen exceeds $35,000 (amends Minnesota Statutes section 628.26, subdivision (h))

Applies to violations of sections 609.2335, 609.52, 609.631, and 609.821 involving property or services valued over $35,000

Effective August 1, 2012, and applies only to crimes committed on or after that date

Maintains existing limitations periods for other criminal offenses, including rape and sexual abuse crimes, murder, and other theft offenses
