Adds "drug" as a defined term in DWI statutes, with meaning given in section 152.01, subdivision 2.

Modifies DWI crimes for motor vehicles, motorboats, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, off-highway motorcycles, and off-road vehicles to include operation under the influence of "a controlled substance or a drug."

Removes the term "hazardous" from the definition of substances that affect the nervous system, brain, or muscles and substantially impair driving ability across all vehicle types.

Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 169A.03, subdivision 9.

All changes effective August 1, 2012, and apply to crimes committed on or after that date.
