Extends the maximum time period for a continuance without adjudication in a juvenile delinquency case from 90 days to 180 days for the initial order.

Extends the maximum time period for one additional successive continuance from 90 days to 180 days, contingent on court review and entry of a new order.

Allows the court to enter orders for conditions, detention (up to 15 days), or investigations during the continuance period as provided in existing statute.

Does not apply to extended jurisdiction juvenile proceedings.

Becomes effective August 1, 2012, and applies to continuances ordered on or after that date.
