Commissioner of Health must convene a working group of no more than ten members to study and recommend methods for reducing administrative burdens on nursing homes in Minnesota.

Working group must include at least one member each from Health Commissioner, Human Services Commissioner, and Board on Aging; at least three nursing home representatives (including one administrator); and at least one long-term care ombudsman representative.

Working group must study current state and federal reporting and inspection requirements for nursing homes and recommend ways to consolidate or eliminate reports without jeopardizing patient safety.

Commissioner of Health and Commissioner of Human Services must submit a report to the legislature by December 15, 2012, including findings, recommendations, and draft statutory or rule changes needed for implementation.

First meeting must be convened by June 1, 2012, with all appointments completed by that date; meetings are open to the public and the working group expires upon submission of the required report.
