Increases motor vehicle registration tax by $100 on electric vehicles as defined in Minnesota Statutes section 169.011, subdivision 26a

Amendment applies to Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 168.013, subdivision 1a, which governs passenger automobile and hearse registration taxes

Effective January 1, 2013, and applies to all vehicle registrations effective on or after that date

Electric vehicles will pay the existing registration tax structure (base $10 plus 1.25 percent of base value) plus an additional $100 tax
