Minnesota Legislature officially recognizes the Khmer Freedom Fighters of Cambodia for supporting and defending U.S. military forces during the Southeast Asia conflict and their continued support of free nations.

Khmer Freedom Fighters rescued downed U.S. pilots, prevented sensitive military information from falling to enemy hands, gathered intelligence on enemy positions, and provided food and shelter to U.S. forces.

Khmer Freedom Fighters facilitated the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh on April 12, 1975, and remain subject to intimidation and death threats if identified in Cambodia today.

Minnesota Legislature urges the President and Congress of the United States and all other state legislatures to formally recognize the Khmer Freedom Fighters for their heroic efforts defending human rights and freedom.

Minnesota Secretary of State directed to transmit copies of this memorial to the President, Congress, and presiding officers of all other state legislatures and Minnesota's Congressional delegation.
