Prohibits employers from requiring employees or prospective employees to provide passwords or account access information for social networking sites as a condition of employment or consideration for employment.

Defines "social networking site" as an Internet-based service allowing individuals to create public or semipublic profiles, share connections with other users, and view connection lists within the system.

Excludes electronic mail from the definition of social networking sites covered by this prohibition.

Preserves employers' rights to develop and maintain lawful workplace policies governing use of employer-owned electronic equipment, including policies on internet use, social networking site use, and electronic mail use.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
