Establishes special license plates for retired firefighters who served at least 10 years and separated in good standing from their fire department.

Retired firefighters must obtain a letter from their fire chief and local government administrative officer confirming eligibility and pay a $10 fee per set of plates.

Special plates are available for passenger automobiles, one-ton pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, and motorcycles, with a distinguishable emblem different from active firefighter plates.

Plates may be transferred to another qualifying vehicle for a $5 transfer fee and are only valid while the individual remains retired from their original fire department.

Effective January 1, 2013; fees collected are credited to the vehicle services operating account in the special revenue fund.
