Requires teachers renewing their continuing license to complete further preparation in cultural competency, defined as developing behaviors, attitudes, and policies for understanding and working effectively with people of different cultures, effective September 1, 2012.

Requires school administrators renewing their professional license to include cultural competency preparation in their continuing education requirements, with the same effective date and definition as teacher requirements.

Amends Minnesota Statutes sections 122A.09, subdivision 4, and 122A.14, subdivision 3, to establish these cultural competency training mandates.

Applies to all licensed teachers and school administrators seeking license renewal after September 1, 2012.
