Local school boards must develop policies prohibiting public school employees from using publicly funded resources (including time, materials, equipment, facilities, and technology) to advocate for or against political candidates, referendum questions, or to solicit funds for political purposes.

Policies must define appropriate use and times of use for all school computers with Internet access available to employees.

Policies may not prohibit the use of public funds to disseminate factual, non-advocacy information about local ballot propositions.

School districts must make these policies readily accessible to the public.

The requirement takes effect six months following final enactment.
