Prohibits the commissioner of education from adopting Common Core standards in mathematics, arts, science, language arts, and social studies

Requires the commissioner to revise and align state academic standards in mathematics (2006-2007), arts (2007-2008), science (2008-2009), language arts (2009-2010), and social studies (2010-2011) with specific implementation timelines

Mandates that students complete algebra I by eighth grade and algebra II by graduation (2014-2015 school year or later), and complete chemistry or physics for science graduation requirements

Requires the commissioner to embed technology and information literacy standards into state academic standards and establish review cycles for each subject area

Directs school districts and charter schools to revise and align local standards in health, world languages, and career and technical education with periodic review cycles
