Road authorities may issue annual permits for six or more axle vehicles hauling construction aggregate with gross vehicle weight up to 90,000 pounds (or 99,000 pounds during commissioner-designated seasonal periods) for a $300 fee.

Road authorities may issue annual permits for seven or more axle vehicles hauling construction aggregate with gross vehicle weight up to 97,000 pounds (or 99,000 pounds during commissioner-designated seasonal periods) for a $500 fee.

Seven-axle vehicle drivers must comply with driver qualification requirements under Minnesota Statutes section 221.0314 and federal regulations (49 CFR parts 40 and 382).

Permitted vehicles remain subject to axle weight limits, seasonal load restrictions, bridge load limits, manufacturer's gross vehicle weight ratings, and must have brakes on all wheels; vehicles cannot operate on interstate highways.

Permit revenue must be deposited following the same procedures as section 169.865, subdivision 4.
