Public utilities, cooperative electric associations, and municipal utilities must provide notice to statutory and home rule charter cities of gas or electric service disconnections.

Cities must receive reports on October 15 and November 1 each year listing addresses of currently disconnected properties and disconnection dates upon written request.

Utilities must provide daily reports upon written request listing addresses and dates of newly disconnected properties (struck language limited this to between October 15 and April 15).

Cities receiving disconnection notices must share the information with their police and fire departments within three business days.

"Disconnection" is defined as a cessation of service initiated by the utility that is not reconnected within 24 hours (struck language previously limited this to primary heat sources).
