Extends murder in the first degree statute to include killing a prosecuting attorney or judge while engaged in official duties, with mandatory life imprisonment sentence.

Adds prosecuting attorneys and judges to assault statute covering deadly force attacks, with penalties of 10-20 years imprisonment and ineligibility for probation, parole, or early release.

Expands felony assault statute to include prosecuting attorneys and judges, with penalties of up to 2 years imprisonment or $4,000 fine when assault causes bodily harm or involves transfer of bodily fluids or feces.

Defines "prosecuting attorney" as any attorney with criminal prosecution or civil responsibilities serving as attorney general, county or city attorney, or their deputies or assistants.

Defines "judge" as any judge or justice of a court established by the Minnesota Constitution.

All provisions effective August 1, 2014, and apply to crimes committed on or after that date.
