Increases the maximum weight allowance for motor vehicles equipped with idle reduction technology or emissions-reduction technology from 400 pounds to 550 pounds.

Allows the gross vehicle weight limits and axle weight limits to be increased by the weight of the idle reduction or emissions-reduction technology installed on the vehicle.

Requires vehicle operators to provide proof of idle reduction or emissions-reduction technology through documentation or demonstration upon request by the Department of Transportation or Department of Public Safety.

Applies to all motor vehicles subject to Minnesota Statutes sections 169.80 to 169.88 that are equipped with qualifying technology.

Effective the day following final enactment.
