Amends Minnesota Statutes section 626.556, subdivision 7, to add parent notification requirements for school-based incidents involving potential child maltreatment.

Requires schools to inform parents, legal guardians, or custodians as soon as practicable after receiving information about an incident that may constitute child maltreatment in a school facility.

Parent notification must include when the incident occurred and the nature of the conduct that may constitute maltreatment.

Commissioner of education must inform the parent, guardian, or legal custodian within ten days of receiving a report of alleged maltreatment in a school facility, either orally or in writing.

Maintains confidentiality of written reports maintained by non-welfare and non-law enforcement agency personnel, while allowing individuals who are subjects of reports to access the original report as provided under subdivision 11.
