Allows a specific eligible person born August 11, 1971, who was hired as a Wadena County deputy sheriff on March 9, 2006, to file a retroactive disability benefit application from the public employees police and fire retirement plan based on a shooting incident on March 11, 2006.

Applicant must have been involved in a nonfatal shooting incident near Sebelia, Minnesota on March 11, 2006, without physical injury, resigned in October 2010 after mental health treatment, and failed to meet the November 11, 2007 deadline for filing the disability claim.

If the application is filed by July 1, 2014, and the person is determined disabled in the line of duty due to the shooting incident, they are entitled to receive duty disability benefits including retroactive payments from April 1, 2006.

Overrides existing Minnesota Statutes sections 353.031 and 353.656 regarding disability benefit application deadlines for this specific individual.
