All members of the Minnesota Legislature must complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education each biennium in courses covering the Minnesota Constitution, United States Constitution, and United States and world history.

The Legislative Coordinating Commission must adopt policies and procedures to implement the continuing education requirements and provide opportunities for members to meet these requirements during normal legislative business.

No additional per diem payments beyond current operating standards will be provided to members for completing the education requirements.

The Legislative Coordinating Commission may issue requests for proposals or take other necessary actions to provide the required education.

For the remainder of the current biennium, the continuing education requirement is reduced to six credits, effective the day following final enactment.
