Amends Minnesota Statutes section 609.7475, subdivision 3 to expand felony penalties for fraudulent or improper financing statements to include retaliation against public officers and correctional employees.

Changes the definition of protected individuals to include any public officer under section 609.415 (replacing "judicial officer"), police officers, chiefs of police, and Department of Corrections or local correctional agency officials or employees.

Removes previous language limiting protection to sheriffs/deputies in connection with sheriff's sales of real property and county recorders in connection with lien filings.

Maintains existing felony penalty of up to five years imprisonment or a fine of up to $10,000, or both, when the offense is committed with intent to retaliate against these protected individuals for performing official duties.

Effective August 1, 2014, applying to crimes committed on or after that date.
