Requires employers of health-licensed professionals and health care institutions to report to the appropriate licensing board when they have knowledge that a licensee or regulated person has diverted narcotics or controlled substances from their workplace in violation of state or federal law.

Reporting requirement applies only when the employer or organization has direct knowledge of the diversion and the diversion occurred at that specific workplace or institution.

Exempts self-employed licensees, knowledge obtained in professional-patient relationships where the patient is a licensed health professional, and situations where knowledge comes from the diverted person's self-report to a health professional services program.

Exempts knowledge obtained from an approved work site monitor for someone already participating in a health professional services program monitoring plan.

Does not waive existing reporting requirements under Minnesota Statutes section 214.33, subdivision 1.
