Increases the maximum safe schools levy authority from $36 to $56 per adjusted pupil unit for school districts.

Allows levy proceeds to fund peace officers, drug abuse prevention, gang resistance training, school security, crime prevention, suicide prevention tools, mental health professionals, facility security enhancements, and school climate improvements.

Requires districts to initially contract with local police or sheriff's departments for school liaison services before contracting with other departments.

Increases intermediate school district safe schools levy authority from $10 to $20 times the adjusted pupil units of member districts, with revenue transferred to the intermediate school district.

Effective for taxes payable in 2015 and later.
