MN HF2220

Authorizes the city of North Branch to increase its Public Utilities Commission membership from three to a maximum of seven members through city ordinance.

Requires the ordinance to establish staggered terms for commission members.

Permits the ordinance to allow up to two city council members to serve on the commission and removes residency requirements for serving on the commission.

Applies existing Minnesota Statutes sections 412.331 to 412.391 to the additional commission members, except where those provisions conflict with this authorization.

Takes effect the day after the city's governing body and chief clerical officer comply with Minnesota Statutes section 645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3.
