Commissioner apportions 40 percent of annual arts and cultural heritage fund balance semiannually (March and September) to school districts and charter schools based on adjusted average daily membership.

School districts and charter schools receiving this apportionment must spend the funds specifically on arts and cultural heritage activities for their students.

At least 40 percent of total annual arts and cultural heritage fund spending statewide must directly benefit children enrolled in public schools.

All arts and cultural heritage fund expenditures must be for projects located in Minnesota and include measurable outcomes with evaluation plans.

Effective July 1, 2014, for school apportionments beginning September 2014, and effective for state aid payable for fiscal year 2015 and later.
