Metropolitan Council must adopt standards for light rail vehicle design by January 1, 2015, addressing access and health and safety for users.

All light rail transit vehicles procured on or after January 1, 2015, must conform to the adopted standards.

Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee must review all standards and amendments before Metropolitan Council adoption.

Minimum standards must include two dedicated wheelchair spaces per car, seating for companions adjacent to at least two wheelchair spaces, and specifications meeting or exceeding Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Metropolitan Council must post adopted standards and amendments on its website.
